[ In the large field by the pond, Judai waves at Jun as soon as he spots him. He actually looks presentable for once, but only because he got himself a new pair of pants and he washed his clothes. He's always had shampoo, soap, and toothpaste since he stocks up on that regularly while he travels. It's just that he doesn't brush his hair or anything... Regardless, he looks about 75% better and is holding an older version of the duel disk. ]

[Jun comes within ten minutes, as he said he would. He's changed into a pair of pants and a blue polo that Noah bought for him. He returns the wave and smiles as he sees him]

Judai! You look nice today.

[What sorcery!!]

[ He grins widely. He looks rather pleased with himself. ]

Yeah, I got to use the laundromat for once. I look way better now, right?

Does this mean you got a job?

Kind of. I'm just helping out a friend.

[ Well... technically, yes, but Judai doesn't like to call it a job. It's helping! With some occasional cash on the side. ]

I took care of the sleeping outdoors problem too! Found a nice spot at the mall instead.

Really? My friends and I used to change in front of each other outside change rooms all the time, but we didn't do it in front of the girls, so I guess that makes sense.

[MOVING ON FROM THIS TOPIC]

Hey, we're here to play cards, aren't we?

[ OH YEAH!!!!!!! DUEL MONSTERS!!!!! this is why jun is great. he brings conversations back to duel monsters. Judai will bend down to get the older duel disk model from his bag and stand back up. It still works perfectly and is in great shape. He holds it out to Jun. ]

Yeah! Okay, here, this is the duel disk. You just slip it on your arm and press this-- [ he points to somewhere on the thing because fuck if i know ] --and it'll turn on and spread open. You can then stick the deck into the slot and start playing.

[ While still holding onto the duel disk with one hand (or not if Jun has already taken it), he then bends down again to dig for a deck box. It's definitely seen better days, but it's still in one piece. Once again, he stands back up and holds out the box. ]

This is the deck that I've played with as a kid. It's a bit outdated, but we can fix it with some of the extra cards that I have.

[He listens to the explanation, taking the duel disk and deck when it's offered to him. He puts it on his arm and hits the button as instructed, watching it spread open]

Haha, this thing reminds me of my friend's Soul Device.

[He takes the deck of cards next, carefully looking through them.]

That's fine. I'm brand new to this game, so even if I had the best deck in the world I'd still lose, I'm sure.

You just have to believe in your deck! They'll help you out when you need them.

[ ~heart of the cards~ and all that. Judai always gets stupidly lucky with his draws so... yeah. ]

How about you use that card I gave you a while back? The effect won't be really helpful, but you'd be able to use it for a tribute summon.

Haha...spoken like someone whose lucky at cards.

[He's played enough cards to know it's RNG man.]

Oh, right! It should be in my bag. [He kneels down to sling his backpack off his shoulders and start digging in. A moment later, he pulls out the card...which is now being protected by one of those cases you normally use for rare collector cards. Yep. He was that cautious]

[ Honestly, the case is a bit much, but it warms his heart. A lot of people don't put cards in cases in the ygo world because they're indestructible so he appreciates the thought and consideration. ]

You're taking really good care of him, huh? I'm sure he's really happy.

[It is a bit much, but really it was just a sign in Jun's tendency to go the extra mile when he really doesn't need to. ]

Aha, well it's important to take proper care of spirits! I just didn't want to mess it up.

[And nearly get a whole school killed like last time]

I knew giving you that card would be the right choice!

[ jun is best boy, judai rates him 10/10 would give cards again. ]

All right, let's duel! I'll teach you how to play as we go along!

[He feels a little embarrassed by the compliment so he'll just move on, nodding]
