Anyway, I'm pretty sure he wanted to size us up. Get the measure of the people who knew Luke when he wasn't there for him. I'm pretty sure he's both jealous of us and guilty that Luke had been the one sent instead of him. I was also able to gather that Luke thought Asch was dead, which has probably also messed him up a bit.

Oh and he also called me an idiot when he thought I couldn't hear, but I feel like he's throwing stones in a glass house, you know?

Persistent, obviously has a short fuse, takes things way too seriously. Recipe for disaster, especially when he has the perfectly normal response of treating a tiger like it's a kitten. Yes, yes, Guardians see a lot more dangerous stuff, but treating normal dangers like they're not worth the time is the entire basis of dumb ways to die.

Asch is tricky to read, but my old boss in my past life was subtle with her expressions, too. It's definitely difficult. I might not have caught it if not for my memories of Chief Hoshimi.

Hmm... you're probably right. When you put it that way, it reminds me of someone in my past life. She was a talented Enforcer with a lot of potential, but she was reckless. She'd try to face dangerous Eclipses alone, when really only a Seal Knight should do that. It got her in a dangerous situation at least once. Maybe Asch is the same as her.

Huh, well... that'd explain why you'd be able to tell. I've never been good at picking up those subtle facial cues, so I'm a little envious.
