ENERGY VIBE CHECKJun has the ability to pick up on different magical energy signatures. Think of it like a magical fingerprint, where every person's magic/abilities have their own unique signature. So if your character makes something out of a spell, Jun will be able to tell its their handiwork.
It also should be noted that while each energy signature is unique, magic energies can have similarities based on factors like characters sharing a similar species (ex: Zhongli from
Genshin Impact and Amaterasu from
Okami would both ping as gods), come from the same world, or are related to one another (he can tell whose a Weasley and whose a random redhead).
Other things to note:
The range that Jun's able to pick up on energy depends on the character's power level. If they are magikarp weak, he'll need to be close to them. If they are god-tier gamebreaking level, he'd feel their presence if they're just in the same city. That said, due to Jun lacking the item he needs to focus his sense, he can only pick on a powerful person's location if they are within 50 feet of him. This might change if he finds a replacement for his tracking crystal, but until then he's like this with you godmods in the city.If your character is actively suppressing, cloaking or deactivated their power -- Jun will not be able to sense anything. If your character is one of those cases where they're classified as a supernatural creature but aren't ACTUALLY magic (Vampires in Trinity Blood for example), Jun probably wouldn't be able to sense anything unless you want him to. If your character doesn't have magic but DOES have a magic weapon, he could possibly detect the weapon. Same rules apply. Unless your character is an active threat, Jun is likely to do nothing with anything he senses because honestly he's pretty apathetic. Got a character he can sense? Detection Levels: His power seems to be muted while he's in his human shape. Dan Heng doesn't use any of his magic while human, but absolutely does when he's in his Vidyadhara body. He probably feels like a 3 when he's human, but Jun's free to feel like that's not quite right!
Anything else: Dan Heng describes his magic as like having a storm under his skin or tides surging through his blood. Even though it's water aspect, in HSR there's no water element. Instead, it's Imaginary element, which is basically pure spiritual energy. Also, the Vidyadhara were literally created by a god known as Long, the Aeon of Permanence. That signature is probably still there as the source of his power. Even his human form can't escape that, I don't think.

The Onryo possessing him can turn his power off completely, and has recently acquired some hold over the release button, so to speak.
Unless he's dangerously backed into a corner, he won't proc this cause if he tries he's going to remember every Bad Ending.

Character Name: Edward Kenway

Power Level: uhhhhh. currently 1-2? Edward's Eagle Vision is not quite as broken as, say, the Frye twins who can tag and track an unlimited number of enemies, but he can track up to ten people and uses his Eagle Vision pretty often for that purpose and for tailing people. sometimes he uses it to solve puzzles also but that's for Mayan stelae puzzles so.
I do have plans to give him shadow magic tho so it may bump up to about a 4-5.
UPDATE: he's now sitting comfortably at around a lvl 4 or so. he has shadow magic and one of the more powerful moves he can do is dim the lights for an entire city block, and can turn into a person-sized dragon sometimes.
Detection Levels: he can turn Eagle Vision off and on at will, but when he's tracking someone he can see their outline through walls even when Eagle Vision is turned off, so it's probably on some level just on all the time.
UPDATE: he usually uses shadow magic for traversal and stealth, and has low-level shadow claws for combat, so likely he spikes every so often when parkouring around. otherwise it's the same detection level as before.
Anything else: I don't know if it counts as magical technically on account of like, it's apparently a thing humans in general can do if they train hard enough, no magic needed. Edward's just stupid good at it. somebody calls it a psychic power in the webtoon sequel but they're also new to the Assassin-Templar conflict so make of that what you will.
Character Name: Noctis Lucis Caelum (AU: Noctis Cameron)

Power Level: 5-6 I'd say? he has the royal magic of the Lucis Caelum bloodline and is a Final Fantasy protagonist, so Jun might already be able to tell he's got some magical power that may feel inherited to some degree. he doesn't have the godly summons from the game and I'm not getting those back on account of it would almost certainly break the game, so Jun wouldn't be able to feel those. he would probably sense that Noct has just, like, a bunch of magic weapons just kinda...with him all the time.
his Royal Arms sit at lvl 4 (dangerous magic, can be harmful to the user itself) while the Ring of the Lucii, currently inside his apartment safe, is lvl 5—heavily nerfed to only grant pact abilities like warping and Armiger access, but it can still insta-kill whoever puts it on who's not of Noctis's blood.
Detection Levels: he isn't actively trying to conceal his abilities! so Jun might be able to sense a low-level hum of magic around him. maybe it feels kinda crystalline.
Anything else: nah don't think so.

Detection Levels: No hiding at all! In fact, Jonathan has to continuously keep things running if anything.
Anything else: Jonathan's abilities from Daybreak stem directly from his own soul and on top of that, his use of it in Daybreak revolved around generating more energy from within it to store and harness later. He's not about to become some surplus of magic given Kaisou's limitations, but he'll potentially ping as this very odd, condensed little ball of a lot of 'life'/'holy' energy. Astoundingly 'alive' for someone who claims to be dead, this bat!

In canon, an Angel hooked up Josh and Neku's phones with a special radar meant to ping for energy signals related to the Composer. Curiously, those energy signatures were similar to areas that weren't anywhere near the entrance to the Composer's seat of power.

Power Level: 5-7ish?? Slightly weaker than ragna normally unless Yukianesa has made choices. The sword alone is an 8 and radiates part of a gods power.
Detection Levels: Jin doesn't bother hiding. Yukianesa will be more obvious when in the hands of Jin. Otherwise, you have to be close to the sword to notice the energy.
Anything else: Not really. He's the relatively normal sibling until he received the susano-o armor. Although it might be noticeable that he has the very VERY faint air of a good of destruction, but not the power.
Character Name: Pure Vanilla Cookie/Vani/Elijah
Canon: Cookie Run Kingdom
Species: Minor god
Power Level: anywhere from 5-9 depending on what he's doing. He knows how to suppress it.
Detection Levels: Vani does conceal it. The mark on his forehead and how brightly he's glowing usually denotes how much of his power he's presenting. Full power comes with a spinning halo.
Anything else: Very holy/bright lights coded which Jun would be familiar with. If he wasn't a minor god, you'd swear he was Abrahamic with the way 'the power of truth' feels.
