Friendship and Light!

Loosely based on the Magical Girl Alisa anime in Tokyo Xanadu, but has gone completely off the rails. Magic Alisa is a popular magical girl anime in kaisou. The story centers around the adventures of Alisa, a high school girl who gains the power of being a magical girl and now fights against darkness and evil with the power of friendship and light. The first season is a pretty basic but entertaining magical girl anime with enough story hooks to give it potential.

However the second season introduced a lot of new mysteries and a darker element to the worldbuilding which caused the popularity of the show to skyrocket and make the show a hot topic of discussion for fandoms. The main show has now been running for several seasons, and has obtained a number of spin-off shows, games, light novels that all vary in canonical relevance. While there's plenty of casual fans who just enjoy the main show for the magical girl adventures, diving into the overall lore and mysteries of the show can be a confusing and convoluted mess. Discussions about the show can easily veer into the non-sensical for anyone who isn't familiar with the canon, and trying to explain the full plot in a comprehension way is a herculean task.

So basically it's like Kingdom Hearts but magical girls.


The Characters
※ Alisa: The main character! She is a high school student who comes from a well off family, and became a magical girl after meeting Mona. While she's a little tsundere, Alisa had a pure heart and befriends just about everyone she meets. She fights with a bow.

※ Mona: The mascot character that gave Alisa her power. She is supposed to be some kind of fairy, but her origins are shrouded in mystery. There is a very popular fan theory that Mona is actually the true villain that is practically treated as fanon at this point.

※ The Demon Prince: The main antagonist of the first season and a fandom favorite. The Demon Prince is a young man with the power of darkness that is sometimes a villain and sometimes a good guy depending on the season. He tends to be super edgy looking. There are constant fandom shipping wars between people who ship him with Crow or with Alisa.

※ Crow: An enigmatic part-demon, part-magical man who is sometimes a villain and sometimes a good guy depending on the season. He's snarky and kinda shady, but is ultimately always loyal to the Demon Prince. He's another fan favorite and easily one of the characters with the most fan theories about him.

※ Magical Girls (and boys): There are a large number of characters in the show, many of them with their own magical girl power. There are constant fandom discourse about them. And since obtaining magical girl power is pretty flexible, there is also a large amount of Magical Girl OCs made by the fandom.
